1. LONG STORY SHORT

When you use our website/app (“Platform”), we use cookies and similar online tracking technologies (“cookies”) to keep things running smoothly, understand usage, improve performance, and—if permitted—support advertising. Cookies help us deliver a better experience.

2. WHOLE STORY

2.1 What are cookies and online tracking technologies?

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device. It can remember settings, help you stay signed in, and let us analyze how the Platform is used.

Who sets them

  • First-party cookies: set by Simon.
  • Third-party cookies: set by trusted partners (e.g., analytics, security, advertising, customer support).

How long they last

  • Session cookies: deleted when you close the browser.
  • Persistent cookies: remain for a defined period.

Other technologies we may use

  • Web beacons/pixels: tiny images that collect info like IP, device, and when a page/email was viewed.
  • Scripts & SDKs: code that enables features (analytics, authentication, support).
  • Tracking URLs: links with identifiers to understand the source of visits.
2.2 What information do cookies collect?

Depending on your settings and region, cookies may capture: IP address, device identifiers, browser/OS, language, pages viewed, timestamps, referrer URL, interactions (clicks, scroll), error/performance data, geolocation (coarse), and responses to ads. Some of this may be linked to your Simon account to provide the service. For more on how we process personal data, see our Privacy Policy.

2.3 Categories of cookies we use

A. Strictly Necessary / Functional
Required for the Platform to work and to keep you secure. For example:

  • Sign-in, session management, load balancing, fraud prevention
  • Remembering preferences (e.g., language, timezone)
  • Recording your cookie choices

B. Analytics / Performance
Help us understand how the Platform is used and improve it. For example:

  • Measure traffic and user flows
  • Diagnose errors and performance issues
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of product changes or campaigns

C. Marketing / Advertising (if permitted)
Used by Simon and selected partners to show relevant ads and retargeting, and to enable social features. For example:

  • Build interest profiles based on browsing/usage
  • Measure ad performance and conversions
  • Social widgets (e.g., share/like)

We work with trusted vendors and sub-processors under contract. See {{link to sub-processors page}} for details.

2.4 Non-cookie techniques — Email pixels

We may include pixels in emails to know if they were opened or interacted with (e.g., link clicks) so we can improve our communications. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time.

3. WHAT ARE YOUR CHOICES?

Cookie banner & preferences
Use our cookie banner/manager to accept, reject, or fine-tune categories. You can update choices anytime via {{Manage Cookies link}}. Essential cookies can’t be disabled.

Browser controls
Most browsers (Safari, Edge, Firefox, Chrome) let you block or delete cookies. Blocking some cookies may affect functionality.

Analytics opt-out

  • Google Analytics: install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Advertising choices

  • Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) opt-out
  • Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA/AdChoices)
  • European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (EDAA) preferences
These tools limit interest-based ads from participating companies (you may still see non-personalized ads).

Mobile devices
Your OS may offer settings to limit ad tracking or reset advertising IDs.

Do Not Track
Some browsers send a DNT signal. Because there’s no common standard, we don’t respond to DNT; please use the methods above.
